Storm damage & insurance support

After hail or high wind, the hardest part is knowing what's actually wrong up there. We inspect the roof, photo-document every finding, and package it the way adjusters expect — so your claim rests on evidence, not guesswork.

After the storm

What storm damage actually looks like

North Georgia gets hail, hard wind, and the falling-limb aftermath that comes with it. Some of it you can see from the ground — most of it you can't. Here's what we look for on a storm inspection.

Hail impact

Dimpled bruises, fractured mats and knocked-loose granules from hail strikes — often invisible from the driveway but clear up close.

Wind & uplift

Lifted, creased or torn-away shingles where wind broke the seal. Once the seal is gone, water finds a way underneath.

Fallen debris

Punctures, cracked decking and crushed flashing from branches and limbs brought down in the storm.

Granule loss

Bald spots and grit washing into the gutters — the protective surface stripped off, which shortens the life of the shingle.

Leaks after a storm

Fresh stains on ceilings or in the attic that weren't there before — a sign water is already getting past the roof's defenses.

Not sure? Get it checked

Damage hides. If a storm just rolled through, a quick photo inspection tells you where you stand — no obligation.

How we document it

From storm to settlement, documented

Insurance runs on evidence. Our job is to capture it clearly and hand it over in a form your adjuster can act on.

Rapid inspection

We get out to the roof and assess the storm's impact, prioritizing active leaks and exposed areas.

Photo documentation

Every finding is photographed — hail strikes, lifted shingles, debris and interior staining — so nothing is "take our word for it."

Written report

You get a plain-language report of the damage and the recommended scope, suitable to submit with a claim.

Claim support

We can be there for the adjuster meeting and explain the findings, then complete repairs once your claim is settled.

Insurance claim support

We help you build the claim — honestly

A storm claim moves faster and lands better when the damage is documented properly from the start. Here's how we make your side of it straightforward.

  • Insurance-ready paperwork. Photos and a written scope packaged the way adjusters expect to see them.
  • Adjuster meeting on-site. We can walk the roof with your adjuster and point to what we found and why it matters.
  • Emergency protection first. If the roof is open, we can tarp or dry-in to limit further water damage while the claim is in motion.
  • Repairs done right after settlement. Once your claim is approved, the same team completes the repair or replacement and cleans up.

Plain disclaimer: We document damage and support your claim, but SummitShield Roofing is not an insurance company or a public adjuster. We cannot guarantee that your claim will be approved or set the amount of any payout — those decisions belong to your insurer. We will never inflate or invent damage to influence a claim.

Storm & insurance questions

Questions after a storm

Straight answers about damage, timing and how claims actually work.

The sooner the better. Catching damage early lets you protect the home before the next rain and keeps the timeline clean for a claim. We schedule storm inspections as quickly as we can — call us and we'll find the soonest window we have.

No. We document the damage clearly and support your claim, but we are not an insurance company or a public adjuster. Whether a claim is approved, and what it pays, is decided by your insurer based on your policy. We won't promise an outcome we don't control.

Yes, where it helps. We can be on-site for the adjuster's visit to walk the roof and point to the findings and photos from our inspection, so everyone is looking at the same evidence.

If the roof is open and water is getting in, we can install emergency tarping or a dry-in to limit further damage while the claim is in motion. Call us and describe what you're seeing so we can prioritize it.

The inspection is free, and there's no obligation. You'll get a clear picture of the roof's condition and a written report you can use whether or not you decide to file a claim or hire us for the repair.
